The Superior Dance Band
Formed some
twenty years ago, the band hails from the Kortrijk region (Belgium).
The band plays a variety of styles, all associated with New Orleans: ragtime,
blues, religious songs, marches and popular songs of yesteryears and today.
It is a repertoire that digs into the history of jazz, while staying in tune
with what the young cats bring today.
The band
has had the opportunity to play with some great names of New Orleans and traditional
jazz; including
Wendell Brunious, Freddie Kohlman, Bill Greenow, Sammy Rimington, Geoff Bull,
John Defferay, Freddy Lonzo, Cuff Billet, Ken Coyler, Orange Kelling,
Pete Dyer, Patrick Artero, Boss Queraud, Freddy John, Sven Stahlberg and Jon
Marks.
As the name suggests, the Superior Dance Band seeks to entertain folks in a relaxed atmosphere, making people stretch their legs on the dance floor.
Until now,
the band has it's place at the Brasserie 't Moriaanshooft in Kortrijk, Belgium.
After many years this place has ceased to exist and the band had to move.
They've found a warm welcome in VC MOZAÏK, Overleiestraat 15A in 8500 Kortrijk
